Dalai Lama Calls for Dialogue With ISIS: 'One Has to Have Respect' For The Other Person
Let's see how that works out for you, Dalai Lama.
talking the notion of peace and love to an entirely new level, the Dalai Lama apparently believes Islam is 'a religion of peace and urges us to engage in a 'dialogue' with the Islamic State.
In an interview Monday for the Italian outlet, La Stampa, the Dalai Lama said, "Islam is a religion of peace."
"Those who are intolerant harm their own faith and their own brothers ... there has to be dialogue, with IS as well," the Dalai Lama added.
When asked how dialogue could be achieved with barbarians bent on our annihilation, he replied that, "one has to listen, to understand, to have respect for the other person, regardless."
"There is no other way."
Apparently the Dalai Lama did not get the memo that ISIS considers dialogue with non-Muslims strictly "haram" or, forbidden. In fact when the "vicar of Baghdad" invited ISIS heads for dinner to engage in such a "dialogue" they RSVP'd "we'll come to dinner, but will chop off your head."
Peace and love is a wonderful notion. And it is surely a hallmark of the Dalai Lama's faith, but that does not mean that we cannot use the eyes we were born with to acknowledge that there are some evils in this world that we cannot, indeed should not respect or understand.
