圣诞季就要到了,孩子们最欢乐的时刻应该就是拆礼物了!
不过,对于家庭收入不高的家庭来说,孩子们可能收到的礼物比较少,或者收不到礼物。但是,别担心,加拿大的圣诞老人基金会(Santa Claus Fund)会将圣诞老人基金会礼品盒 (Santa Claus Holiday Gift Box) 给低收入家庭。
或许很多新移民对这个东西还不太熟悉,小编先来科普一下。
从1906年开始,圣诞老人基金会每年都会给小朋友分发圣诞的礼品盒。第一年,收到礼物的小朋友只有350多名,发展到今年有4.5万名小朋友收到礼物。
这些礼品都是基金会通过筹款购买的,主要发给低收入家庭。今年,基金会的筹款目标是170万。礼品也比较实用,针对不同年龄和不同性别的小朋友量身定做。
圣诞老人基金会礼品盒都有什么?
衣服
年龄在5岁至12岁之间的小朋友会收到一个比较暖和的衬衫。这件衣服是基金会定制的,在店里买不到哦。
今年正好是加拿大的150岁生日,所以衣服上有加拿大的象征物。
年龄在1岁至4岁的小朋友会收到羊毛衬里的运动服;
新生儿可以收到一个5件套,包括连体睡衣、围兜、婴儿袜、连帽浴巾、尿不湿等等。
户外装备
第一次在加拿大过冬的新移民或者难民可能还不了解加拿大的冬天到底有多么凶猛。
所以,基金会专门为孩子准备了比较时尚的连指手套 、无边沿帽子,以及配套的衬衫。
饼干
今年的饼干有很多种口味,包括椰子味的、巧克力味的、蜂蜜味的等等。
玩具
一岁左右的孩子有橡皮鸭;两三岁的孩子有手工艺品;四五岁的孩子有棋盘游戏、拼图等。
基本上针对各个年龄段的小朋友量身定制,寓教于乐。
牙刷和牙膏
4岁至12岁的孩子可以收到一套牙刷和牙膏。
袜子
在加拿大过冬,袜子再多也不算多。
书本
年龄不同,收到的书本也不一样。
礼品盒
今年的特色是“雪人、麋鹿和企鹅”。
符合什么条件才能申请?
居住地区:Toronto、Mississauga、Brampton、Ajax、Pickering
年龄:十二岁以下的儿童(新老移民一律欢迎)
收入:低收入家庭
提醒:每个小孩只能在一个机构报名(如果报名重复的话,将自动取消申请)
在哪些机构可以申请?
1. 安省福利援助项目或安省残障协助项目
每年9月份,正在接受以上两个项目帮助的家庭会收到一封提供免费礼品信(粉色)。
如果想要参加这个活动,需要签字并寄回登记。
2.社会福利机构
没有接受政府帮助的贫困家庭也可以申请,但是必须属于社会福利机构的成员。一般来说,社会福利机构不对外开放,仅登记自己会员领取礼物的信息。
